The purpose of this study was to investigate the following: ① the mothers’ safety education for play, traffic, car, sports, accidental fall(slide), sexual abuse, food, fire, dangerous instrument and the protection of environment ② the methods of the mothers’ safety education ③ the difficulty of the mothers’ safety education ④ the contents of safety education mothers wanted to receive ⑤ the safety of home environment ⑥ children’s safety accidents. The subjects of this study were 355 mothers who had 4, 5, and 6 year old children. The data were analyzed in terms of frequency, percents, ranks, T-test and ANOVA. Mothers taught children the safety rules to Protect them from various accidents once a week(or month). Most mothers used the method of ’explanation’ for safety education. Mothers rarely used the method of ’a trip of inspection.’ Most of them had difficulty in finding methods of Protection for sexual abuse. Mothers wanted to receive safety education for sexual abuse, car, traffic, fire and dangerous instrument. There were no safety equipments for electric outlets in more than 70 percents of mothers’ homes. Many children had problem in fastening safety belt in cars.
